CARLOS DEL TORO PARTICIPATES IN PRESIDENT OBAMA’S GROUNDBREAKING ONLINE TOWN HALL
WASHINGTON, DC MARCH 27, 2009: Local business leader Carlos Del Toro was selected to question President Barack Obama during yesterday’s Online Town Hall from the White House.
Mr. Del Toro, President and CEO of SBG Technology Solutions, is a Director on the Small Business Council of the United States Chamber of Commerce and a gubernatorial appointee to the Commonwealth Of Virginia’s Small Business Commission. He and four other members of the US Chamber were invited to participate based on their business acumen and positive professional experiences in this time of national economic crisis.
Over 104,000 questions were submitted in advance for the inaugural edition of the White House’s Open for Questions series, with 3,606,000 votes cast. Mr. Del Toro’s question, on bundling of federal contracts and the ability of small contractors to effectively compete, came during the open questions section and was one of only seven asked during the event. “It was an honor to be back at the White House in support of our nation’s small business agenda. Small business has been the engine of our economy. The President demonstrated his ongoing commitment to helping small businesses grow and prosper.”
