ALEXANDRIA, Va. – September 8, 2015
SBG Technology Solutions, one of the fastest growing engineering service providers in the United States, congratulates the U.S. Navy on the successful launch of the fourth MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) Satellite on September 2, 2015 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. MUOS-4 is the latest addition to a network of satellites and relay ground stations that is revolutionizing secure communications for military forces on the move. Users with operational MUOS terminals will be able to seamlessly connect beyond line-of-sight around the globe. MUOS’ new net-centric capabilities include simultaneous voice and data, over a 3rd Generation Mobile Internet Protocol system. SBG is proud to be part of the MUOS Team.
When the advanced capability is fully operational, MUOS will include five satellites (four operational and an on-orbit spare), four ground stations, interfaces to NIPRNet and SIPRNet via DOD gateways, and tens of thousands of user terminals on joint marine, airborne, and ground platforms. The successful launch of the fourth MUOS satellite completes the operational constellation and ushers in a new age of secure UHF communications between users in locations across the globe.
SBG provides space systems engineering, technical and acquisition support, and policy development for Program Executive Office (PEO) Space Systems. SBG supports systems engineering technical reviews, DoD Narrowband requirements and Analysis of Alternatives efforts, and Space Industrial Base sustainment. SBG also proudly provided the logistics and graphics communications for the launch event through its second contract within PEO Space Systems/PMW 146 for UHF/Narrowband Satellite Communications Operational Maintenance Support.
“We are thrilled to again stand, side-by-side, with the Navy for the successful launch of the fourth MUOS satellite,” said Carlos Del Toro, CEO of SBG. “Programs like this are critical elements of U.S. national security; we are humbled to be a part of such a project.”
