SBG Technology Solutions To Receive Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve “Above and Beyond Award”

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 18, 2015

SBG Technology Solutions, one of the fastest growing and leading training and engineering and information technology service providers in the United States, was selected by the Virginia Committee for Employer Support of Guard and Reserve (ESGR), among hundreds of award nominations, to receive The Above and Beyond Award. This award recognizes employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits and have a demonstrated track record of supportive practices.

“It is a great honor to be recognized for this prestigious award,” said Carlos Del Toro, CEO of SBG.

“We continue to support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve. We recognize that these citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families.”

SBG has been supporting the National Guard Bureau (NGB) and Army National Guard since 2009 on a variety of key programs to include:

The ARNG Strength Training Maintenance Training Program (SMTC), developing training curriculum and training the ARNG Recruiting and Retention Force by providing instructors on location, at SMTC in Little Rock, AR. The Instructors provide on-site classroom training and deploy in Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) to deliver follow-up and reinforcement training to recruiting and retention personnel in the field.

The ARNG Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) program, providing technical support services, including Lean Six Sigma and business process engineering, executing the Centralization of Payment Processing for tuition assistance (TA) to all 54 states and territories.

The ARNG Warrior Enhancement Leadership Training (WELT) program, developing a curriculum framework and lesson module outline providing academy students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully transition to Army life.
Career Field Analysis (CFA) concepts and reports, including developing tutorials and standard operating procedures to assist NGB personnel in better understanding the health of the various communities. SBG evaluated demographic trends, shortfalls and challenges, implemented and monitored new research methodologies to ensure the process supported the needs of the organization.

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 4,700 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, service members and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.
